Rep. Cori Bush campaign duped by fake ‘Chief Rabbi of Gaza’

A fake “Chief Rabbi of Gaza” parody social media account deceived another Squad member.

The reelection campaign of fervently pro-Palestinian Rep. Cori Bush (D-Missouri) was exploring the possibility of fundraising using a fake X-account called “Rabbi Linda Goldstein,” which would spew anti-Israel venom to fool credulous progressives.

Exchanges obtained by The Washington Post revealed that the account had previously scammed Bush’s colleague, Rep. Jamaal Bowman, and had pitched the fundraising idea to the Bush campaign on June 23.

“I have been traveling between cities since my congregation fled Gaza following the October 7 Israeli invasion,” Goldstein wrote in an email to Ronica Moody, Bush’s director of finance and communications.

“Also, [Bush] “Going to the Gaza border to raise funds? That would be an amazing sight!”

Moody responded on June 27, “Kori is interested in hosting in Gaza and is working on making plans. Unfortunately, the opportunity has not panned out so far.”

“Is the theme Gaza?” Moody asked.

Goldstein has boasted about digging terror tunnels using a menorah made from missiles. At an American university Among other outlandish moves, he suggested the theme of the fundraiser might be the “morality” of the Intifada.

“The agenda is centered around finding a final solution to the problem of Zionism,” Goldstein added, without any response from the Bush camp.

“Cori Bush is the perfect example of a ‘hollow’ anti-Semite who has no idea what’s going on with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict but wants to speak out because it gives her an excuse to openly hate Jews,” said Michael, the pro-Israel lawyer behind the parody account, who declined to give his last name.

Like Bowman, Bush is an ardent pro-Palestinian, and opinion polls suggest he is set to lose his August 6 election against St. Louis prosecutor Wesley Bell.

The Bowman team fell victim to Goldstein’s loss in April in the primary against Westchester County Mayor George Latimer.

The Rabbi Susan Talbe, founding rabbi of Central Reformed Congregation in Bush’s St. Louis district, said lawmakers should know better.

“Kori hasn’t done any research on anything to do with Israel and Palestine, and that’s a great shame,” the real rabbi told The Post.
