Jim Jordan to Grill Executives Accused of Colluding to Silence Conservatives

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) staged a post-Fourth of July fireworks display by securing the attendance of two executives from companies accused of conspiring to silence conservative voices in violation of antitrust laws.

Unilever USA President Herish Patel and Group M Global CEO Christian Juhl have agreed to testify at 10 a.m. ET Wednesday at a hearing titled “Collichesion in the Global Alliance for Responsible Media.”

As previously reported exclusively, Breitbart News obtained letters from Jordan to Unilever and Group M, saying the committee had documents showing that the companies, as members of the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) steering team, are “deeply committed to GARM’s efforts to boycott, demonetize and censor objectionable views.”

Ben Shapiro also testified. The Daily WireAlong with Breitbart News and Fox News, has been a victim of GARM censorship.

As Breitbart News previously reported:

GARM is a powerful initiative of the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) and, according to its website: Over 150 The world’s biggest brands Over 60 GARM is the Association of National Advertisers around the World. Established It was launched in 2019 in Cannes, France, home to a film festival frequented by ultra-liberal Hollywood’s jet-set elite, to “address the challenges of harmful content on digital media platforms and its monetization through advertising.”

The officials are unlikely to get a warm welcome from Republicans on the committee, who have receipts in the form of reams of documents and correspondence detailing GARM’s coordinated actions.

Breitbart has learned that Republicans are expected to pressure GARM executives about their cooperation in silencing, demonetizing and deplatforming conservative voices and media, which could violate the Sherman Antitrust Act and would go far beyond the organization’s stated purpose of promoting “brand safety.”

Specifically, Republicans will target GARM’s coordinated boycott of Twitter (now TwitterX) to stop paid advertising after Elon Musk bought the company, the organization’s threat against Spotify after popular podcaster Joe Rogan opined that young and healthy people may not need a COVID-19 vaccine, and plans to extend its methods into the burgeoning field of artificial intelligence.

Additionally, Republicans are expected to press GARM over its efforts to suppress and weaponize influence over political advertising, including President Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign.

The hearing comes at a time when Americans’ distrust of established media and information sources is at a peak, with confidence in established media to “report the news fully, fairly and accurately” at its lowest in recent history.

The mainstream media is taking a hit in the aftermath of President Joe Biden’s nightmarish debate performance on June 27, during which Biden struggled to finish thoughts or remember key points, spoke in a raspy, barely audible voice, and suffered many long, painful silences.

After denying and mocking reports of Biden’s declining ability to perform his job, the mainstream media almost uniformly began to reverse course during the debate’s awkward opening minutes, confirming the concerns of millions of Americans that the media had not been honest with them about Biden’s performance.

The WFA’s reach and influence is staggering, as the organization represents over 150 of the world’s largest brands and over 60 national advertiser organizations from around the world. The WFA claims that its members account for over $1 trillion a year, or roughly 90% of global advertising spend.

The Judiciary Committee initially investigated the issue for more than a year. Request Information obtained from GARM and WFA in March 2023. Subpoena Both organisations are scheduled to disband in May 2023 as they have failed to submit any documentation.
