The media has finally woken up and noticed Joe Biden’s cognitive decline, which has been obvious to anyone who has seen him since at least 2019. The sudden shift in media discourse reveals just how dishonest the corporate media has been on a range of topics, including the president’s intellectual acuity.
But this new circus is just a supporting role to what’s going on in the main ring. Whoever’s in charge (and it’s fair to assume it’s not someone in rapid mental decline) has instituted destructive policies that have wreaked havoc on the finances of middle-class Americans and made the country less safe.
Americans cannot tolerate another four years of this.
Despite the temptation to shift focus, Republicans must stay on track to win the presidency, Congress, and local seats. Their message must remain focused on:
economy. The economy is top of mind for Americans heading to the polls. Despite all the advertising, double-digit cumulative inflation under Biden has put huge pressure on the working and middle classes. Americans, especially those without substantial assets, are struggling to cover basic living expenses.
Huge budget deficits, a national debt approaching $35 trillion, and slowing growth due to interest payments exceeding defense spending have created an unstable financial base and a lack of confidence in improvement.
There’s a reason this is the most important issue on the ballot: It’s not just Biden’s policy, it’s the Democratic policy, and it needs to be at the forefront, not on the back burner.
National security and borders. The Commander in Chief’s primary job is to ensure the security of the United States, including our border. We are currently in the midst of the worst border crisis in American history.
Under the Biden administration, millions of illegal immigrants are entering the United States without difficulty. In early 2024, a report estimated that the number of illegal immigrants in the United States would double under the Biden administration. The report said that terrorists who entered the country were being arrested, and illegal border crossers were being involved in high-profile crimes such as rape and murder.
In cities across the country, illegal immigrants are getting housing and other benefits paid for with American tax money. This must stop. The man in the Oval Office currently cannot stop this.
America’s place in the world. The weaknesses of this Administration go beyond the President. The policies and lack of dignity of the entire Administration have made the United States a laughing stock on the world stage. The Administration has made decisions such as funding Iran that have emboldened and accelerated its support for terrorism. The Administration has also weaponized the U.S. dollar, encouraging more countries to sell their U.S. Treasuries and conduct international trade in other currencies.
Other decisions, such as pursuing “green” initiatives, benefit rivals such as China rather than strengthening America’s economic base.
There are other issues, of course, but with limited messaging space, staying focused on the economy, national security and America’s overall strength far outweighs the president’s mental clarity.
This administration has blatantly pursued a series of dire national economic and security crises that go far beyond Biden’s personal cognitive and aging concerns. These issues must remain at the forefront of our efforts because the American people cannot afford another four years of this.
