‘I Didn’t’ See All of Biden’s Debate with Trump Before I Defended Him

During Wednesday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania) acknowledged that he didn’t watch the entire debate between President Joe Biden and 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, but that he still wants to defend Biden after the debate.

“You watched the debate, like we all watched the debate, but did it change your mind?” moderator Jesse Watters asked.

Fetterman responded, “Yes, I did see some of it. I was actually on a flight coming back from Israel at the time, and when I landed… some of the text started to make sense to me, and at that point I really wanted to use social media to defend the president, and I decided to do that. Of course, you and your viewers know that I had some really tough debates, but I just want to remind you that I’m not a conglomerate of bad debates.”

Watters continued: “Didn’t you watch the entire debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump?”

Fetterman responded: “I didn’t watch it. I saw, obviously, probably the hardest one. But I, and a lot of people who watch Fox, recognize that Donald Trump had a great day and a great debate on that. But what I want to remind people is that Donald Trump said things that were not true or that were not at all consistent with some of the values of the majority of people. But Joe Biden, make no mistake, did not have a great debate. But to me, he’s already beaten Trump and I think this is his best opportunity to beat Trump again.”
