President Biden’s highly anticipated solo news conference on Thursday evening was panned as a “fiasco” by conservatives on social media, who criticized the president’s performance for being haltingly responsive to reporters’ questions about foreign policy and the 2024 presidential election.
“This NATO press conference with Biden is another disaster. It is baffling that those advising this man continue to think he won’t embarrass himself and this country. Why do they continue to allow this to happen,” Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce posted on X during the press conference.
Biden appeared before the media at the conclusion of the NATO summit in Washington on Thursday afternoon but made a series of gaffes, including confusing Vice President Kamala Harris with former President Donald Trump, stumbling over while answering a question and announcing to reporters that he had a list of people he wanted to call.
“This press conference is a huge failure. Joe Biden is not answering questions,” Fox News contributor Leo Terrell posted to X during the press conference.

“Crooked Joe begins his ‘Big Boy’ press conference with: ‘I wouldn’t have picked VP Trump as my VP, but I don’t think she’s qualified to be president. Well done, Joe!'” Trump added on Truth Social.
Conservatives and critics of the president sharply condemned Biden’s press conference.
Biden’s “big boy” NATO press conference takes on huge significance as his first since the disastrous debate
The NATO summit in Washington is a “pivotal” moment for Biden as he faces growing scrutiny over his fitness to serve as president
Biden’s press conference came amid growing concerns about his health following his poor performance in a debate late last month, and worries within Democrats that the president’s advanced age of 81 and declining mental capacity could be a liability for the party as it faces off against Trump.
Biden has vowed to continue campaigning amid growing concerns and calls for him to withdraw from the race and allow another candidate to take on Trump.
Biden says ‘the world is watching America’ amid intense scrutiny ahead of NATO summit
“There’s a lot of speculation about what Joe’s going to do? Is he going to stay in the race? Is he going to drop out? What’s he going to do?,” Biden said Friday during a speech in Madison, Wisconsin. “My answer is this: I’m going to run and I’m going to win again.”
Amid growing speculation and calls for Biden to back out, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said earlier this week that Democrats were keeping their thinking on Biden private “until we see how this week turns out.”

“I think we’re just going to wait and see,” she said on MSNBC. “Whatever you’re thinking, you don’t need to tell anybody privately or bring it up until you see how this week plays out.”
Thursday will mark Biden’s first solo press conference since November.
