Farage Blasts Media for Spreading ‘Narrative of Hatred’ Against Trump

Brexit leader Nigel Farage has accused the legacy media of spreading a “hate narrative” against his longtime friend and ally Donald Trump, who survived what appeared to be an assassination attempt on Saturday.

Following the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump, who is seen as a leading contender for the 2024 presidential election, Nigel Farage has criticised the media’s coverage of the Republican front-runner.

In a statement posted to X, the Brexit campaign leader wrote: “The mainstream media is spreading a narrative of hate against my friend Donald Trump. I hope they are proud.”

Mr Farage, a long-time supporter and confidant of the former president, added: “They are disgusting people.”

Multiple gunshots were apparently heard as Donald Trump addressed supporters at a political rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night. Trump was then filmed crouching and clutching his ears. He was then filmed standing up with his fist raised, before being escorted off the stage by Secret Service agents.

“He’s OK,” the Trump campaign said in a statement after the apparent assassination attempt.

“President Trump thanks the police and emergency responders for their swift action in response to this heinous incident. He is in good spirits and is being examined at a local medical facility. More details will be released at a later date,” the campaign added.
