Joe Biden condemns assassination attempt on Trump: ‘I’m praying for him and his family’

President Joe Biden issued a statement condemning the attack on former President Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.

Initial reports said a gunman opened fire on President Trump while he was speaking at a rally, apparently wounding him before being shot dead.

“We must come together as one nation to condemn this.”

Biden: statement He called on Americans to condemn political violence.

“We have received reports of a shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. We are pleased to hear he is safe and in good spirits. As we await more information, we are praying for him, his family and all those who were at the rally,” the statement said.

“Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety,” he added. “This kind of violence has no place in America, and we must come together as one nation to condemn it.”

Other politicians also offered prayers for the former president.

“As someone whose family has been a victim of political violence, I know firsthand that any political violence has no place in our society,” he said.

“We thank God that former President Trump is safe,” she added. “As more details emerge about this horrific incident, let us pray that everyone who attended former President Trump’s rally today is safe and sound.”

Pelosi was referring to an incident in which a man attacked her husband with a hammer at their San Francisco home after allegedly trying to kidnap her.

“There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy.”

“Violence has no place in America, especially in our political process,” he said. “Hillary and I are grateful that President Trump is safe and our hearts are with all those affected by today’s attack at a rally in Pennsylvania. We are grateful for the swift action of the U.S. Secret Service.”

Fellow presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. called on all Americans to come together.

“Now is the time for all Americans who love our country to turn away from division, renounce all violence, and unite in prayer for President Trump and his family.”
He said.

The Trump campaign said the former president is receiving treatment and is expected to be OK.
