Fantasy baseball owners can help inspire MLB All-Star Game change

MLB desperately needs to change the rules of the All-Star Game Fantasy Baseball Community, I ask you and your league buddies to become keyboard warriors and send an email to the Commissioner’s office immediately.

Please put away your participation trophies.

Not every kid needs to play one inning, and not every MLB team needs to compete in the Midsummer Classic.

The players who play in the All-Star Game should be All-Stars, not just the best players on the worst teams.

The disregard shown this season is an atrocity and should be infuriating to fantasy managers of these players.

In the American League, we watched in horror as Joe Ryan, George Kirby and even Erick Feddy were cut from the roster in favor of Angels starting pitcher Tyler Anderson.

Do left-handed pitchers have better ERAs than all three?

Yes, but he is outperformed in almost every other metric, including WAR, which may not be a fantasy category, but it is certainly a metric that measures a player’s overall value relative to the rest of his contemporaries.

But because of the stupid rule that every team must have a representative so as not to hurt the feelings of every baseball fan, all they have is lame-duck starting pitchers who are likely to be struck out in the first inning.

In the National League, why would Ryan McMahon be on this roster?

He’s not even the best player on the team, but he’s there with Christian Walker, Francisco Lindor and Willy Adames all sent home this week.

All three have better power totals even though they don’t spend half the games at Coors Field, and Lindor is also stealing more bases.

Where does McMahon shine?

How about a 28.1 percent strikeout rate?

It’s shining in the middle of nowhere where the sun never shines. A total travesty. I’m looking forward to seeing him strike out, hopefully after just one at-bat.

Why do we need representatives from the Angels, Marlins and Rockies at the All-Star Game?

All three teams had terrible records and no player performed to deserve a spot.

The equally underachieving Athletics also had an All-Star worthy player in Mason Miller.

What about the other three teams?

there is nothing.

Hot trash.

Do you bet on baseball?

The All-Star Game needs change, and it starts with a grassroots movement from the fantasy community.

We know more about how these athletes perform than the average fan who votes for their favorite player regardless of performance, and it’s time that our dedication to our sport is recognized.

Enough people making fun of baseball already.

We need to stop adding fuel to their fire.
