President Joe Biden said he is “grateful” that former President Donald Trump, who was injured at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, is “safe” and “in good spirits.”

We have received reports of a shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. We are pleased to hear that Mr. Trump is safe and well. As we await more information, we are praying for Mr. Trump, his family, and all those who were at the rally. Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for evacuating Mr. Trump to safety. This type of violence has no place in America. We must come together as a country to condemn it.
Biden told reporters after the incident that he didn’t know whether the incident was an assassination attempt.
This kind of violence has no place in America. This is sick. This is one of the reasons we have to unite our country. We cannot allow this to happen. We should not be like this. We cannot tolerate this.
So I want to thank the Secret Service and all the agencies, including state agencies, for the work they’ve done to keep the injured safe. We’ll have more details on the other injuries as we go along. There may be injuries in the audience. I don’t have all the details. I’ll keep you updated on that information. I may be back later tonight, but I’ll make a statement. If I can’t, I won’t be able to make it available to you.
Ultimately, Trump’s rally was a peaceful rally that should have been uneventful. But the idea of political violence, or that this kind of violence is happening in America, is completely unheard of. It’s completely inappropriate. Everyone, everyone must condemn it. Everyone.

The incident occurred at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania on the evening of July 13. The Secret Service has taken protective measures and the former president is safe. The Secret Service is currently investigating and more information will be released as it becomes available.
