The father of 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks said he is trying to figure out “what the hell is going on” after his son was identified as the man who attempted to assassinate former President Trump, according to reports.
Matthew Crooks declined to provide any details about his son, saying he would “wait until I speak with police” before speaking out about the horrific shooting. He spoke to CNN on Saturday night..
Thomas Crooks was shot and killed at a rally for former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Crooks’ bullet grazed the 45th President’s right ear, killing one male spectator and severely wounding two others.
Crooks was stationed on the roof of a manufacturing plant more than 130 yards from the stage.
The Washington Post reported that the gunman was killed by a sniper team, which responded to gunfire from behind the bleachers on the roof of another building near where Trump was standing, according to sources.

Records show Crooks lived in the town of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, about 45 miles south of the Butler Farm Show where the shooting occurred.
