Donald Trump is demanding Secret Service protection for independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., especially after an assassination attempt this weekend that put the former president’s life in jeopardy.

Trump posted on Truth SocialThey called for protection for Kennedy Jr. following the incident at the Pennsylvania rally.
“Given what is currently going on in the world, I believe it is imperative that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. receive Secret Service protection immediately,” the former president, 78, wrote to Truth Social. “Given the history of the Kennedy family, this is clearly the right thing to do!”
Kennedy announced last year that his Secret Service request had been denied, a move that came as a shock to many because the political family has a history of assassinations.
Also on Sunday, Rep. Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., and Rep. Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y., said they plan to introduce legislation that would provide “enhanced Secret Service protection” for President Joe Biden, President Trump and President Kennedy Jr.
