The Department of Homeland Security received information from a human source about an Iranian plot to assassinate former President Trump, two federal law enforcement sources told Fox News.
It’s unclear how far the plot has progressed. CNN first reported that the intelligence has led to increased Secret Service protection for Trump in recent weeks, with Homeland Security and the Secret Service growing concerned about Trump hosting outdoor events, Fox News reported.
According to reports, the Iranian plot has no connection at this time to the assassination attempt on President Trump carried out by Thomas Crooks in Pennsylvania.

Both agencies expressed concerns to the Trump campaign about Iranian plots, which have increasingly been targeted by Trump since the killing of Iranian leader Qassem Soleimani in January 2020, but this specific threat has only grown in recent days.
