The second night of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was dominated by the theme of American security, with a clear emphasis on border security — an issue that has been central to former President Donald Trump’s policy agenda since he descended the golden escalator in 2015.
Tonight’s speakers include many politicians, past, present and (possibly) future.
- Vivek Ramaswamy
- Former UN Ambassador and Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley
- Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
- Florida Senator Marco Rubio
- Florida Senator Rick Scott
- Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders
- Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton
- Texas Senator Ted Cruz
- Tennessee Governor Bill Lee
- Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt
- Former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson
- Louisiana House Speaker Mike Johnson

But perhaps the most significant and moving testimony of the night will come from speakers whom the RNC calls “ordinary Americans,” including the family of Rachel Morin, the young woman murdered by an illegal immigrant.
Outside the RNC, the news continues to focus on shocking revelations about Secret Service failures during last Saturday’s assassination attempt on President Trump.
The other big news today was that a jury found Senator Bob Menendez, D-NJ, guilty of all 16 charges in his federal bribery trial. It remains to be seen whether Senator Menendez will comply with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s demand for him to resign, or whether Schumer will force him to do so.
The Democratic media complex has launched a sweeping investigation into President Trump’s running mate, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance. The usual suspects have accused Vance of being dangerous, frightening and a very bad person. But the American public, who criticized Vance’s 2016 memoir, has also: Hillbilly Elegy They seem to welcome the bestselling “Rust Belt” senator.
