California delegates discussing Biden resignation in private groups: reports

California’s Democratic delegates are reportedly in turmoil as a dispute over the president’s possible reelection threatens to split the party.

Private group chats across multiple social media platforms were set up to facilitate discussion among delegates, who are nearly all concerned that Biden would not be well received by voters for a second term. According to Politico.

A trove of messages were reportedly leaked to the outlet, just the latest in a wave of leaks from the Biden administration and the Democratic Party at large.

“Obviously the first step is for President Biden to voluntarily resign and release his delegates,” Democratic National Committee delegate Susan Bolle wrote in a Facebook group discussing the issue. “We need to have this discussion. This has been a painful experience on all sides, but we have a huge role to play in history with this election. We can’t just let this go.”

Pelosi said she was “confident that Biden will lose” and was “on the phone negotiating to get Biden voted out of the election.”

“Kamala may not be the overall favorite, but she is the cleanest candidate, logically,” Stonewall Democratic Club Vice President Nico Brancolini reportedly told the club, “but imagine the outrage that would erupt if a sitting Black woman vice president hadn’t been chosen over the other candidates.”

Delegates aren’t the only ones actively calling for Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.
