FBI: No Motive Established For Trump Assassination Attempt

Five days after the assassination attempt on the 45thNumber President Donald J. Trump, investigators have yet to determine a motive.

During a congressional briefing on Wednesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray told lawmakers that the bureau had conducted more than 200 interviews and reviewed more than 14,000 images.

The FBI told lawmakers it had found no evidence to suggest the shooter held “strong political views.”

Phone records show he was searching for Trump appearances and dates for the Democratic National Convention.

Authorities also told lawmakers that the shooter had also been researching online topics related to severe depression.
