Trump to Dine with Macron at Versailles

President Donald Trump is set to attend a noteworthy dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles, following the conclusion of the G7 Summit. This special gathering, organized by the French government, is intended to celebrate the 250th anniversary of a significant event. It coincides with America’s Independence Day and highlights the U.S. administration’s active role in global affairs, especially regarding recent developments in the Middle East.

The dinner will follow the G7 summit in Evian-les-Bains, where Trump is expected to engage in bilateral talks and working sessions with allied leaders.

Macron’s invitation to Trump was made earlier, but the official confirmation from the White House didn’t come until Saturday. The Elysée Palace also verified the dinner plans.

“The president of France happens to be a very nice guy and he invited me to dinner at Versailles,” Trump commented at the lakeside resort.

Known for his appreciation of luxury, Trump accepted the invitation enthusiastically.

“Versailles is not gold leaf. It’s real. And I said I wanted it to be,” he remarked.

Even though this dinner means he will return home to Washington, D.C. later than intended, Trump insisted it wouldn’t impede his agenda. He assured that he would keep a regular schedule upon his return.

“All that means is that I get home late in the evening, early in the morning. And I’m not a good sleeper anyway. I won’t waste any time,” he added.

Notably, Trump’s last G7 experience in Alberta, Canada, was abbreviated as he had to leave early in June 2025 due to a burgeoning military crisis involving Israel and Iran.
