Trump Announces Death of Political Commentator Lou Dobbs
Political commentator and former Fox Business Network host Lou Dobbs died Thursday at the age of 78.
Former President Donald Trump post Truth Social announced Dobbs’ passing, describing him as “a truly incredible journalist, reporter and talented person.”
“The great Lou Dobbs has passed away. A friend and a truly incredible journalist, reporter and talented person,” Trump wrote in the post. “He understood the world and what was going on better than most.”
The former president added, “Lou was unique in many ways and he loved our country.”
“My heartfelt condolences go out to his wonderful wife, Debi, and family,” Trump added. “He will be greatly missed!”
In February, Fox News reportedly canceled Dobbs’ show. Lou Dobbs TonightIt aired twice, at 5pm and 7pm ET.
As Breitbart News previously reported, Dobbs’ show was canceled after voting technology company Smartmatic “filed a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News and its hosts, including Dobbs, Fox News hosts Jeanine Pirro and Maria Bartiromo.” The company added:
“This sudden development comes after voting systems company Smartmatic filed a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News and hosts Dobbs, Jeanine Pirro and Maria Bartiromo. Smartmatic claims the network broadcast falsehoods about the company, causing both financial and reputational damage. Another voting software system, Dominion Voting Systems, recently sued Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell for $1.3 billion over allegations of voter fraud.”
