Billionaire X owner Elon Musk has repeatedly criticized CrowdStrike after a botched software update caused what may be the biggest IT outage in history, including taking aim at the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion policies.
Services were mostly restored to hospitals, banks and other businesses that use Microsoft products after fixes for the glitch caused by a faulty update by cybersecurity provider CrowdStrike were distributed, but airlines around the world continued to struggle on Saturday.
Following the incident, Musk dug through old CrowdStrike posts about X, uncovering one from March 2022 in which he appeared to announce his participation in a panel discussion on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
“It’s not exactly bright right now.” Musk responded.
Musk also told everyone at X that they had “removed CrowdStrike from all of our systems, so there will be no rollout whatsoever.”
Musk has voiced his full support for President Trump following last week’s assassination attempt.
The Tesla CEO has long been a vocal opponent of so-called “woke” policies in California and the United States.
He also said he would move SpaceX and Cosmos to Texas after California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a law preventing parents from knowing about their children’s gender identity.
“This is the final straw,” Musk tweeted on Tuesday.
