Speaking outside the White House on Monday, Harris read out Biden’s “achievements” as president, emphasizing that he believes his presidency has been “unparalleled in modern history.”
“President Joe Biden wanted to be here today. He’s feeling much better, is recovering quickly, and is looking forward to returning to work. I want to say a few words about the president. What President Joe Biden has accomplished over the past three years is unparalleled in modern history,” Harris said. “In one term, he has already surpassed the accomplishments of most two-term presidents. We worked together as attorneys general in the state, and Beau would often tell me stories about his father and what kind of father and person Joe Biden was.”
“The qualities Beau admired in his father are the same qualities I see every day in our president: his honesty, his integrity, his commitment to faith and family, his big heart and his love and deep love for country. I have witnessed firsthand that President Joe Biden fights for the American people every day, and we are truly grateful for his service to our nation,” she continued.
