Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, a partner in President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, doesn’t think much has changed in the presidential race despite President Joe Biden’s withdrawal.

“I don’t think the political calculation changes anything,” Vance said at a press conference about Trump Force Two.
Former President Trump’s running mate said whoever the nominee is will represent “Biden’s America.”
“My attitude is [that] “We’re fighting against the Democratic Party’s record of failure,” Vance said.
Vance further explained that Vice President Kamala Harris is intrinsically tied to Biden’s record: He argued that Biden’s record is her record.
“We were fighting against Joe Biden’s open borders,” Vance said. “Kamala Harris was the border czar. Kamala Harris was supporting the Green New Scum. Frankly, Kamala Harris was covering for Joe Biden, even though it was clear he had been mentally incompetent for a long time.”
“All the corruption, all the bad policy, it’s because of Kamala Harris,” Vance continued.
Vance’s comments came the day after Biden announced he would not seek reelection in 2024. Vice President Harris has secured the support of Biden, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Bill and Hillary Clinton and other prominent Democratic leaders.
Not only has Harris secured a majority of supporters, she is also quickly securing the number of delegates needed to become the Democratic nominee.
But Vance disputed the whole development and criticized the Democratic process and policies.
“The voters should decide who the Democratic nominee is,” Vance said. “They haven’t made that decision. This is clearly some kind of rigged deal and I hope the voters will punish them for that fact.”
“A major party’s nominee shouldn’t be decided by George Soros, Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi getting together and deciding,” Vance continued. “It should be decided by the will of the voters, and Democratic voters have been deprived of that.”
At the very least, Trump is leading Harris by 1.9 percentage points. Real Clear Politics Polling average. Vance believes that if Republicans continue to debate policy, they will ultimately prevail.
“In my opinion, it doesn’t matter who the top candidate is, as long as it’s about policy and what they want to do for the American people,” Vance added.
