Victor Wembanyama’s new Nike shoes look like something an actual alien would wear

Victor Ouenbayama’s summer is about to begin. The 20-year-old prodigy will represent his native France and be one of the faces of the 2024 Paris Olympics. France just won the silver medal in men’s basketball at the last Tokyo Olympics, but the addition of the 7’5″ super freak will raise expectations even higher. After the Olympics, Ouenbayama will return to basketball. San Antonio Spurs The team will be looking to qualify for the Western Conference play-in tournament in their highly anticipated sophomore season.

Wenbanyama already has a lucrative sponsorship deal with Nike, and the company is planning several new things around Wenbanyama ahead of the Olympics. Awesome new teaser ad Wenbanyama operates under the slogan “Victory is not for everyone.” This time, the first prototype of Wenbanyama’s debut signature shoes will be released.

We can all agree that Nike has hit the nail on the head with Wenbanyama’s new logo. What do you think of the shoe?

Here is the video:

It’s no secret that Wenbayama loves science fiction. It’s no secret that he likes the nickname “Alien” because he’s so much more than the “unicorn” archetype of other big men that suddenly seem so traditional in comparison. At 37, I feel like I’m too old to properly appreciate this shoe, but I do appreciate that it’s so distinctive and unique, like nothing I’ve ever seen before, just like Wenbayama himself.

Wembanyama’s sophomore season will be a lot of fun to watch. He somehow exceeded expectations last year despite being one of the most anticipated rookies in the history of the league. The Spurs should have put in a bit more effort in the offseason to build a better team around Wembanyama, but the match between Wembanyama and the world is an interesting one in itself, and hopefully it will start at the Paris Olympics in his hometown.
