Early Tuesday morning, agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation searched the Long Island home of a former aide to New York Gov. Kathy Hockle (D). The New York Times report.
The five-bedroom, $3.5 million mansion that Linda Sun shares with her husband, Chris Foo, is located in a gated community on the North Shore.
The FBI “conducted court-authorized law enforcement operations.”
Sun served as deputy chief of staff to Hoekl from September 2021 to November 2022. Prior to that, she served as deputy superintendent for intergovernmental relations and chief diversity officer under former Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D). Daily Voice Sun also reportedly served as chief of staff to Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY), who served as a member of the New York State Assembly.
An FBI spokesman told The Times that its New York office “conducted court-authorized law enforcement operations” at Sun’s home before dawn Tuesday. The FBI did not elaborate on the nature of the search. Prosecutors in the Brooklyn U.S. Attorney’s Office obtained a search warrant, but no arrests have been made and Sun has not been charged with a crime.
WNBC Sun’s husband declined to comment when reached by phone, the report said. Many other media outlets reported that Sun did not respond to requests for comment.
Hoeffel’s office also did not respond to a request for comment. Washington Examiner and Crain’s New York Business report.

As previously reported by The Blaze News, in March the FBI searched the home of Winnie Greco, a senior aide to New York City Mayor Eric Adams (Democrat). Greco, who had worked for Adams for more than a decade, was placed on administrative leave following reports of the search. Greco had been under investigation by the city’s Bureau of Investigation for allegedly using her public office for personal gain.
Greco is at least the third Adams aide to be investigated by the FBI, according to the Associated Press. Late last year, federal agents also searched the Brooklyn home of the mayor’s top fundraiser, Brianna Suggs.
Adams is currently Federal investigation Mayor Adams had his electronic devices seized by FBI agents in November after he was accused of accepting potentially illegal campaign contributions from dummy donors. A grand jury is reportedly reviewing all of the evidence, but the mayor has not been charged with any crimes. Mayor Adams maintains that he has “nothing to hide.”
