North Korea’s latest anti-American propaganda video contains a brief image depicting former President Donald Trump as a predatory “U.S. imperialist” enemy – perplexing some supporters of the communist regime because earlier videos had portrayed Mr Trump more favorably.
The video, integrated into the forced weekly political speeches that North Korean prisoners of war are forced to endure, portrays Trump as one of “US imperialists and other hierarchical enemies seeking to recreate past bloodshed on this soil.”
The bloody incident the video’s narrator is referring to is the Korean War from 1950 to 1953.
“The only thing that has changed is that the methods and weapons of murder they used then are now covered in a sweet, fragrant shell of film, printed propaganda, superstition and drugs,” a narrator in the propaganda video gushed, as a photo of President Trump shaking hands with dictator Kim Jong Un appears in the background.
The indoctrination lecture that incorporated this video was titled “Anti-North Korea Conspiracies Guide.” Paranoid political speeches are common in North Korea, but some people who were forced to watch this particular presentation were surprised that Trump was portrayed as one of the conspirators. The implication was that the historic meeting with Kim was a fake to cover up America’s continuing misdeeds.
One from North Korea Said In an interview with Radio Free Asia (RFA), he said he was “shocked” to see President Trump portrayed as the villain, after his administration had for years touted his 2019 diplomatic efforts as a positive development.
“Recently, the party’s regular lectures have been held by watching recorded videos. This week’s lecture was a recorded lecture, and it conveyed the message that dreaming of American imperialism leads to self-destruction and death,” the North Korea resident said.
“The point of this lecture from beginning to end was to ensure that we never get caught up in the enemy’s relentless anti-Korean conspiracy strategy,” he elaborated. “The authorities urged us to raise awareness about the impure recordings, anti-socialist publications, drugs, religion and superstitions that the enemy is spreading in order to destroy the Republic from within.”
According to RFA’s sources, the North Korean regime has long said that “it’s great that Kim Jong Un and the US president met and joined hands,” but neighbors are similarly perplexed by its sudden accusation that President Trump is “using him as a banner for an anti-North Korea strategy.”
Another North Korean resident said most of his fellow serfs “don’t even listen to the authorities’ propaganda that the United States has launched an anti-North Korean conspiracy to destroy North Korea from within.”
A fierce anti-Trump editorial in the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Tuesday suggested the Kim regime wanted to criticize Trump for highlighting his ties to Kim during the election campaign.
“No matter what kind of government is born in the United States, the political situation, which is already in turmoil due to infighting between the two parties, will not change, so we don’t care,” an editorial in the Korean Central News Agency sneered.
State media said President Trump would only offer “malicious attempts at dialogue as an extension of the confrontation,” dashing hopes of improved ties during a second Trump term.
Korean Central News Agency offered Trump drew some lukewarm applause when he said he had “tried to reflect the special personal relationship between the heads of state,” but then complained that he had failed to achieve any “substantial positive change” in U.S.-North Korea relations as president.
Kim Reportedly He sent a personal message of sympathy to President Trump. Attempt About his life At a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, Trump spoke at the Republican National Convention the following week. was suggested Kim Jong Un wants him to win the 2024 election.
“I’m good friends with him. He wants me back. I think he misses me, to tell you the truth,” Trump said jokingly, apparently irritating North Korea’s propagandists.
Former North Korean diplomat Ri Il-kyu Exiled Going to Korea in November Said South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported on Tuesday that despite Kim’s protests, the government was “eagerly waiting for President Trump’s re-election” and that improved ties with the United States could be advantageous given the worsening relationship with China.
“Restoring ties with China is not a top priority for North Korea. Its primary goal is to extract maximum benefits from Russia and devise a strategy to prepare for Trump’s return,” Ri said. Said“North Korea believes China will not make them live in luxury, but it also believes Beijing will not let them starve to death.”
Former National Security Adviser to President Trump, HR McMaster Said On Tuesday, Kim Jong Un said he might be interested in reviving his “bromance” with President Trump if he returns to the White House.
McMaster predicted:
And what he’s going to do right after that is say, “Hey, I have a deal for you. I’ll satisfy your urge to withdraw. In exchange for U.S. troops withdrawing from the peninsula and having only a few nuclear weapons, I’ll stop our long-range ballistic missile program and limit our nuclear program.”
“He’ll be trying to get something like the Iran nuclear deal, a terrible deal for the United States. You’re not going to get that from the Trump administration, but he’s positioning himself for it,” McMaster said of Kim.
