Former president and current Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has endorsed two Republicans in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District.
President Trump has endorsed two of the six candidates in the House primary, urging his supporters to vote for Abraham Hamadeh or Blake Masters to replace retiring Republican Rep. Debbie Lesko.
“Blake Masters is a highly successful businessman and an incredibly strong supporter of our movement to Make America Great Again. He’s smart and tough!,” Trump told supporters in a Truth Social post on Sunday. “Similarly, Abe Hamadeh, a military veteran and former prosecutor who fought bravely for election integrity, has been with me all along!”

“We need a true warrior in Congress who will work tirelessly with us to grow our economy, stop inflation, secure our borders, end immigrant crime, support our fine military and veterans, and protect the Second Amendment, which is under constant attack,” Trump continued.
Other Republican candidates vying for the 8th District seat include former Rep. Trent Franks, Arizona House Speaker Ben Toma, Arizona Rep. Anthony Kahn and local PTA member Patrick Briody.
The conservative district is most likely to go to the Republican candidate who wins the primary, who will face off against biosecurity expert Greg Whitten, who is running unopposed for the Democratic nomination in the district.

“They will both be excellent candidates and I am excited to announce my full endorsement of both Blake Masters and Abe Hamadeh to be the next Representatives for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District. I know you will not be disappointed!” Trump concluded.
Democrats are seeking to unseat two vulnerable Republican incumbents in Arizona districts that President Biden won four years ago.
In the 1st District, which includes northeast Phoenix and its suburbs, seven-term Republican incumbent Rep. David Schweikert is the front-runner in a primary field that also includes businessman Robert Bakke and Kim George, a former FBI agent and corporate investigator.

In the southeastern state, Republican Rep. Juan Siscomani is running for a second term in a district that includes much of the Tucson suburbs.
He faces off in the Republican primary on Tuesday, which is also being challenged by candidate Kathleen Wynne, who came in third in the 2022 nomination race.
If Siscomani wins the primary as expected, he will face Democrat Kysten Engel in November, setting up a very close rematch in the 2022 election.
