Facebook has admitted to censoring an iconic image of Donald Trump raising his bloody fist in the air after an assassination attempt.

Trending Politics reported:

Facebook acknowledged to investigators on Monday that it had temporarily shadowbanned a historic photo of former President Donald Trump proudly raising his bloody fist in the air after the July 13 assassination attempt.

Speaking to the New York Post, a Facebook spokesperson said the decision to censor the iconic image, which was originally set to appear on the cover of Time magazine’s August issue, was a “mistake.” Conservative social media account End Wokeness said the message from the company included a threat to suspend other users who shared the allegedly “misinformation” image. Dani Lever, a spokesperson for Facebook’s parent company Meta, called the decision a “mistake.”

“Yes, this was a mistake,” Lever wrote in response to a message from Charlie Kirk, who accused social media networks of banning the photo from being shared. “This fact check was initially applied to a photo that was doctored to show Secret Service agents smiling, but in some cases, our systems mistakenly applied the fact check to real photos.” Lever added, “This has been corrected and we apologize for the mistake.”

Users were outraged by the apology, sarcastically responding that it must be a “coincidence” that Facebook was once again censoring conservatives and MAGA followers. “Nah, I don’t believe it anymore,” one X user commented. Another wrote, “Funny how the ‘mistakes’ are always one-way. I think it’s just a coincidence.” The Post also noted that Mehta had just emerged from yet another anti-conservative controversy after he called a new AI chatbot “fictional” when asked to explain the Trump shooting.

Donald Trump slammed Facebook and vowed to be “tougher this time” against Google and Facebook.

Truth Society:

Facebook admitted they accidentally censored an “assassination attempt photo” of Trump and got caught. So did Google, making it virtually impossible to find any photos or anything related to this heinous act. Both companies have faced major backlash over the censorship allegations. Another election rigging attempt has begun!!! Attack Meta and Google. Let them know we all know who they are and we’re going to be tougher this time. MAGA2024!
