Joy Behar disagrees with Democrats calling JD Vance, Trump ‘weird’: ‘Take the high road’

“The View” co-host Joy Behar doesn’t think Democrats need to call former President Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance “crazy people,” suggesting Democrats shouldn’t use “bad names.”

“I don’t agree with that. I don’t think we should use the word weird. Call him a convicted felon,” she said, specifically referring to Donald Trump. “That opens up space for the other side to say, ‘You think we’re weird, look at you.'”

Democrats in recent days, including Vice President Harris, JB Pritzker, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Rep. Eric Swalwell, have described the Republican candidate’s policies as “creepy” and “weird.” Swalwell said on CNN that the Republican candidate’s policies are “creepy” and “weird.”

“It’s so weird and it’s so nasty and you have to be noble and stop being weird and call him what he is,” said Behar, who has been a fierce critic of the former president.

Co-host Sara Haines seemed to fully endorse the sentiment that Trump, Vance and the Republican Party are “weird.”

“Trump is the weirdest of them all. It’s weird that he comments on his daughter’s looks and sexuality. It’s weird that he lives in a 24-karat gold apartment with his name inscribed in gold. It’s weird that he buries his ex-wife on a golf course. So that’s what makes it effective. There’s a lot of weirdness on the other side too. That pretty much sums it up,” Haines said.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who worked for Trump in 2020, said she didn’t disagree with the line of attack and that the “bizarre” attacks were not “vulgar.”

“I think what they’re saying is this is not your grandfather’s Republican Party, this is a party that’s way outside the mainstream,” Griffin said.

Co-host Sunny Hostin said the “bizarre” attack was “harmless” and “innocent.”

“These people are just weird,” Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said while campaigning for Harris on Saturday.

“The fascists are hoping we’ll come back, but we’re not afraid of the weirdos,” Waltz said during the event. “It’s a little scary, but we’re not afraid.”

At a recent fundraiser, Harris described Trump as “weird.”

“I’m sure some of you have noticed that Donald Trump has told some outrageous lies about my record. Some of the things he and his running mate have been saying are just bizarre. I mean, that’s what you put in that box, right?” Harris said.
