Suspects Forced Man Off Bridge While Bound With Duct Tape, Authorities Say

Police in Oklahoma have arrested multiple suspects after they allegedly kidnapped a man, bound him with duct tape and forced him off a bridge, according to a press release Friday.

According to a press release, officers with the Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) responded to a location near the bridge based on a “complaint of someone running into traffic” and found a man “severely injured.” (Related article: New Mexico State Police investigate kidnapping of 10-month-old girl, murder of two women at park)

According to OCSO, officers determined the man “needed emergency medical attention” and he was “transported from the scene by emergency responders.” Investigators determined the man was the victim of a kidnapping and had been “bound with duct tape and then forcibly removed from the bridge.”

According to a press release, OCSO arrested three suspects in the case: Sean Ranney, Brianna Nomar and Jason Lawson. After investigation and interviewing witnesses, investigators “made arrests in this case.” Further interviews led authorities to two more suspects, one of whom had an arrest warrant issued. OCSO arrested Sean Ranney on the warrant and then allegedly found “the firearm used in this crime.” Brianna Nomar was later arrested.

Lawson confessed to acting as a lookout for the group that kidnapped the victim, NBC News reported. reportAccording to the media, Lawson claims that Ranney took the victim to a bridge, pointed a gun at him and ordered him to “jump off the bridge.”

After the victim escaped the fall, Ranney bound him with duct tape and put him in his car, charging documents state. He then drove him to another part of the bridge and forced him off the bridge “while still restrained,” the report states.

Authorities have charged the three with kidnapping, according to online jail records, according to NBC News. The outlet reports that Ranney is charged with aggravated assault and felon in possession of a firearm, while Nomar is charged with assault with intent to murder. Lawson is also charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon, attempted first-degree murder and felony conspiracy. Ranney and Nomar are being held on $250,000 bail, while Lawson’s bail is $300,000, according to the outlet.

OCSO did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment.
