Reid Hoffman, Mark Cuban lead more than 100 Silicon Valley investors backing Harris

LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and TV personality Mark Cuban are leading a group of more than 100 venture capitalists backing Harris, a strong endorsement amid concerns about former President Trump’s expansion into Silicon Valley.

“We spend our days seeking out, investing in, and supporting entrepreneurs shaping the future,” VCs for Kamala’s website states. “We support business, the American Dream, entrepreneurship, and technological advancement.”

“We also believe that democracy is the backbone of our nation,” the statement continues, “and that strong, trustworthy institutions are a feature, not a flaw, and that without them our industry — and every other industry — would collapse.”

“That’s what’s at stake in this election,” the site said. “Everything else can be resolved through constructive dialogue with political leaders and institutions willing to talk to us. In this pivotal moment, we are united in our support for Vice President Kamala Harris.”

In addition to Hoffman and Cuban, other prominent venture capitalists including Ron Conway and Vinod Khosla have also signed the pledge.

The endorsement of Harris comes as Trump has managed to poach several former Silicon Valley Democratic donors, including tech adviser Jacob Helberg, venture capitalist Sean Maguire and billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk.

Crypto investors are also increasingly supporting Trump amid frosty relations with Democrats and the Biden administration, joining a growing cohort of conservative tech leaders in Silicon Valley, which typically leans toward Democrats.
