Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that the country is ready to respond strongly to any attack following the killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and a senior Hezbollah official in Beirut.

Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke publicly on Wednesday for the first time since their deaths.
“My fellow Israelis, difficult days lie ahead. Since the attack in Beirut, we have been hearing threats from all directions. We are prepared for any scenario and will stand united and resolute against any threat. Israel will impose a heavy price for any attack against us from any sector,” Netanyahu said in a televised statement.
This comes after Israel accepted responsibility for the killing of Hezbollah leader Fuad Shukr, who was blamed for an attack in the Golan Heights that left 12 children dead.
Iranian media reported Haniyeh’s death early on Wednesday morning. The Revolutionary Guards said the terrorist leader, a senior member of the group, was killed while in Tehran to attend the inauguration of Iran’s new president.
