Tom Cruise is reportedly set to assist with the Olympic handover ceremony between Paris and 2028 host city Los Angeles.
The closing ceremony will be enhanced by actors from Mission: Impossible, who filmed stunts in both cities as part of a taping scheduled for August 11. According to TMZ:.

Neither NBC nor the International Olympic Committee has acknowledged Cruise’s involvement, but TMZ reported that it was Cruise who pitched the IOC a series of stunts to link the Paris Games with a future Games in Los Angeles.
The US city, which also hosted the 1932 and 1984 Summer Olympics, will host the Olympics from July 14-30, 2028. Competition will begin at the Coliseum built for the 1932 Olympics and will take place in venues including Crypto.com Arena (formerly Staples Center), what organizers are calling Downtown Sports Park, the Convention Center, Los Angeles Football Club Stadium, the University of Southern California’s Galen Center and the Microsoft Theater.
This isn’t Cruz’s first Olympic glory: At the 2004 Olympics, he helped carry the Olympic torch through Los Angeles as part of a ceremonial relay around the world before the opening ceremony in Athens, Greece.
The actor has been filming Mission: Impossible 8 in various parts of Europe, including the UK, since March this year, and the film is scheduled for release in the summer of 2025.
Cruise was seen cheering on athletes from the stands in Paris, where the Olympics kicked off with a dramatic, winding opening ceremony along the Seine River on July 26. The four-hour opening ceremony featured performances by Lady Gaga, Aya Nakamura, punk band Gojira and Celine Dion, who wowed audiences with her first performance since announcing her diagnosis with an autoimmune disease called stiff-person syndrome.
