NYC prosecutor resigns after being filmed by internet vigilantes

A Bronx district attorney abruptly resigned after being caught on video attempting to meet a boy he’d been in contact with online, according to a video made by an Internet vigilante group that hunts down child abusers.

William C. C. Kemp Neal, 30, resigned from the Bronx District Attorney’s Office four days after the group’s arrest. Anti-father activists post video of him The shooting took place in a Target parking lot on East Sandford Boulevard in Mount Vernon.

In the video taken around 8:30 p.m. on July 8, Video Vigilante He approached a man who identified himself as Kemp Neal and asked if he was Marcus. Kemp Neal, a 2021 graduate of Fordham University Law School, quickly ran away.

Kemp Neal made $84,990 a year as an ADA and primarily handled assault, harassment and child endangerment cases.

The men chased after him, yelling, “Excuse me everyone, this man is here to see a 13-year-old boy.”

The chase ended abruptly when an unknown man intervened, grabbed Kemp Neal and put him in a chokehold, according to the footage.

As one of the men questions him, Kemp Neal can be seen having difficulty breathing and trying to run away.

“You’re going to take him for a milkshake, right Marcus?” one of the men asked.

“We haven’t,” Kemp Neal replied.

The video shows Kemp Neal being roughly handled by the unknown man, with his eyes appearing to pop out at one point as the grip tightens.

Mount Vernon Police responded to the chaotic scene and questioned people at the scene.

No arrests were made, but police said in a statement they had “encountered several individuals alleging foul play” and promised a “thorough investigation”.

Kemp Neal has not been charged with any crime.

“William Kemp Neal served here as District Attorney from June 28, 2020 to July 17, 2024,” District Attorney Darcel Clark’s office said in a statement. “He has resigned from his position.”

Kemp Neal could not be reached for comment.
