Angelina Jolie claims Brad Pitt attempted to force NDA to cover ‘years of abuse’

The ongoing legal battle between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is getting more heated, with Jolie accusing Pitt of forcing her to sign an $8.5 million non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to “silence” her abuse allegations.

In court documents filed July 25 and obtained by Fox News Digital, Jolie’s lawyers argued that the “Maleficent” star and her children are “victims of Pitt’s so-called ‘private’ abuse and cover-up.”

Jolie recently demanded that Pitt hand over records of any third-party communications regarding the 2016 plane crash after she and Pitt allegedly got into an argument on the flight and Jolie filed for divorce shortly thereafter.

In 2022, Pitt sued Jolie over the “Tomb Raider” star’s sale of his share of the former couple’s French winery, Chateau Miraval, asking a judge to declare the sale “void.”

In court documents, Jolie’s lawyers argued that she “did not act with malice to injure Mr. Pitt in response to a custody judgment” when she sold her stake in Miraval in 2021.

“Instead, Pitt refused to buy her rights unless she signed a new and expanded non-disclosure agreement, enforceable by withholding of $8.5 million specifically designed to compel her to remain silent about his abuse and cover-up,” the court documents state.

A source close to Jolie commented further on the lawsuit to Fox News Digital.

“It is unfair for Brad Pitt to assert a non-disclosure agreement to hide his criminal conduct, and no victim of abuse should be coerced into silence,” the statement said.

“She never filed charges, left all her assets to her husband and was the one who tried to sell the business to him in the first place. Still, he was not satisfied and sued her and continues to attack her in the press to this day. All she wants is peace and the power to heal her family.”

The “Bullet Train” actor disputed Jolie’s claims.

“This was simply a business dispute and unfortunately this legal attack is just the latest example of them making it a personal issue and hurting the entire family,” a source close to Pitt told Fox News Digital.

“The other side has repeatedly and desperately tried every possible way to distract from the fact that it was she, not Brad, who requested the divorce confidentiality agreement. This fact completely undermines the legitimacy of their endless attacks.”

“She doesn’t want anyone to focus on the fact that she broke the agreement, sold Miraval, took the money and deprived her children of Miraval’s inheritance.”

The former couple acquired a controlling interest in Chateau Miraval in 2008 and lived in the home throughout their relationship. Jolie attempted to sell her company Nouvelle to Tenute del Mondo, a subsidiary of the Stori Group, in 2021, effectively ceding a 50% ownership interest in Miraval. Pitt opposes the sale, claiming the move breaches a contract between the couple.

Jolie’s companies claim that Pitt has masterminded a “vindictive campaign” to “plunder” her lucrative businesses since he first filed for divorce in 2016.

According to court documents previously obtained by Fox News Digital, Nouvel accused Pitt of “taking over” Chateau Miraval and “squandering” the company’s assets on unnecessary renovation projects, including spending $1 million on a pool renovation.

In March, a court dismissed Jolie’s arguments that Pitt’s lawsuit was frivolous and malicious, and authorized the trial to begin.
