Former President Donald Trump spoke about the assassination attempt against him at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and said he survived thanks to God.
Trump at a rally in Atlanta, Georgia Explained After Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at the July 13 rally, he praised the Secret Service agents who protected him for their “bravery” under “bullet fire.”
“Whatever you say, they were brave. They ran at me,” Trump told the crowd, “and bullets were flying. The Secret Service were very brave. I can only say they were very brave. They were very brave. They ran at me, and at that point they knew the bullets were going to go over my head.”

“The first one was not a good situation, it was not a good situation,” Trump added. “It was just unbelievable. It was from God. It was from God. Because the possibility … it was from God. You unbelievers, it was from God, right?”
Crooks opened fire during a Trump rally in Butler from the roof of a nearby building, in direct view of the former president.
Trump died from a gunshot wound that penetrated above his right ear.
Corey Comperatore, a husband, father and Pennsylvania firefighter, was killed while trying to protect his wife and daughter after Crooks opened fire. Two other men, James Kofenhaver, 74, and David Dutch(57 years old) was also injured in the assassination attempt on President Trump.
After the assassination attempt, the former president released a message thanking everyone for their “thoughts and prayers,” adding that “only God prevented the unthinkable.”
