Vice President Kamala HarrisDemocratic presidential nominee Donald Trump on Tuesday picked Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as his running mate in the 2024 election to face off against former President Donald Trump, Fox News Digital confirmed.
The nomination of Walz, 60, was not a shock because his name was expected to be quickly floated as a contender less than two weeks after Harris became president of the party after succeeding President Biden.
Former Congressman Waltz said: Governor of MinnesotaIt’s a state that Democrats have reliably won presidential elections in for decades, but the Trump campaign is aiming to upend the election cycle.
“I’m proud to have asked @Tim_Walz to be my running mate,” Harris said in a formal announcement on Tuesday. “As a governor, coach, teacher and military veteran, he has dedicated his life to working families like his.”
She added: “We’re happy to have him on the team. Now let’s get to work.”
“One of the things that really struck me about Tim is how deeply he believes in fighting for middle-class families,” Harris said. …read more
