Vice presidential candidate Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.)’s official biography exaggerates his military rank. Reports Just news.
“Governor Walz’s biography states that he served in the National Guard at a higher rank than he was when he retired after being automatically demoted for failing to meet required promotion requirements,” the report states.
Most condemnable is the news that Waltz “left the unit before deploying to Iraq.”

Waltz briefly held the title of master sergeant but “was discharged as a sergeant in 2005 for benefits purposes after not completing additional coursework at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy,” Army Lt. Col. Kristen Auger, state public affairs officer for the Minnesota National Guard, told Just the News.
The state of Minnesota’s official website states that Waltz retired from the Minnesota National Guard as a “master sergeant” in 2005. However, this is not true. “He retired as a sergeant in 2005 for benefits purposes because he did not complete any additional coursework at the U.S. Army Sergeant Major Academy,” Lt. Col.
