California police say one man was killed in a fight during a road rage incident following a minor crash in West Hollywood.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department released limited details about the fatal crash, which happened in a shopping mall parking lot on Wednesday around 1 p.m.
“He probably didn’t expect to die today. It’s just awful.”
witness He told KTLA-TV Police said they saw two men in their 40s or 50s getting out of their cars and arguing.
Sean Harrison said he was getting food at a Mexican restaurant when he witnessed a larger man he had been arguing with punch a smaller man, knocking him unconscious.
“But it didn’t look like a punch that would kill someone,” Harrison said.
He said that after being hit, the man lost consciousness and looked like a rag doll.
The man, who lost consciousness, was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead, and the other man was also taken to hospital.
“It’s just one punch,” Harrison continued. “You never know what’s going to happen, so you’re like, ‘Fuck, I’m gonna shut up.’
An eyewitness became emotional after revealing that his father was battling cancer.
“You know why we can’t all get along,” Harrison said, “My dad’s dying of cancer right now. He’s fighting for his life and this guy wouldn’t have thought he was going to die today. It’s just awful.”
