Israel says underground Hamas weapons workshop destroyed in airstrike

The Israel Defense Forces released a new video on Wednesday showing forces discovering and then destroying in airstrikes an underground factory allegedly used by Hamas to manufacture weapons.

The discovery of the Hamas underground workshop came during a multi-week operation by the IDF’s 7th Brigade Combat Team in the Bani Suheila area of ​​Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, according to the IDF.

According to the IDF, forces raided dozens of terrorist infrastructure facilities during the operation, eliminating more than 70 Hamas operatives in close combat and airstrikes.

During the operation, troops from the 603rd Battalion and Yahalom Unit discovered tunnels leading deep underground, officials said. As the troops investigated the route, the IDF said they found an underground workshop and a three-room compound that Hamas terrorists were using to store and manufacture weapons.
