Trump surprises with unique defense of Biden while speaking directly to media — and it’s not good for Kamala Harris

Donald Trump on Thursday did something Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, has so far refused to do: speak directly to the media.

At his first news conference since President Joe Biden dropped out as his party’s presidential nominee, Trump at times appeared to defend his former rival.

“He made some tough arguments, but that doesn’t mean we should take them lightly.”

“The presidency has been taken from Joe Biden. I’m not a fan of Biden,” Trump said.

“From a constitutional standpoint, from any standpoint, they took away the presidency,” he continued. “He had the right to run, whether he could win or not, and they took that away.”

Trump said Biden Threatened by the 25th Amendment Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) Personally Confronting BidenOf course, Biden came under pressure last month to drop out of the race, propelling Harris to the top of the Democratic presidential field.

At a press conference, Trump emphasized that he believes there is a serious problem with Harris’ promotion: Democratic primary voters chose Biden over Harris.

“I’m just saying it’s very serious, very egregious that a country with a Constitution that we hold dear should have done something like this,” Trump said.

“They were supposed to go to the polls, they were supposed to have primaries, they were supposed to do something,” he continued. “But to take that away from him like he’s a child? He’s very angry right now, that’s for sure. He’s very angry.” [Barack] Obama is not happy with Nancy Pelosi.”

“He’s trying to look good, but doing that is very bad for the country,” Trump continued. “As you know, I’m no fan of his, and his debates were tough, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to take that lightly.”

“You should go vote and do something. He had 14 million votes. She had zero,” he pointed out.

The former president then accused Harris of “disobeying” Biden and said what Democrats did to promote her was “unconstitutional.”

In addition to Trump answering numerous questions from reporters, the main news to emerge from the press conference was that Trump has agreed to host three presidential debates.

The first debate that President Trump has agreed to is on September 4th on Fox News, followed by another on September 10th on ABC, and then a third debate on September 25th on NBC.

So far, Harris has only agreed to the ABC debate.
