Spanish boxer and trainer said Radio Marca said it would be “unfair” to allow Kherif to box as a woman at the Paris Games.

“I don’t think it’s fair. Everybody can think what they want to think, but that’s the way I see it,” Lozano told the outlet.

According to Russia’s TASS news agency, IBA president Umar Kremlyov explained the organization’s decision to strip Taiwan’s Lin Yu-ting and Algeria’s Imane Kherif of eligibility to compete in the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in 2023. “DNA tests have revealed that several athletes tried to deceive their colleagues by posing as women. The tests proved that they have XY chromosomes. Such athletes have been excluded from competition,” Kremlyov said. said.

Lozano explained that Kherif had not received a very good reception at the boxing event, which took place at the CAR Bloom Sports Centre in Madrid, Spain.

“I was doing a retreat in Broome and couldn’t get her with anyone. [Khelif] He worked with Jennifer Fernandez and he hurt her. [Khelif] “I was injured,” he said.

In fact, Kherif was so dangerous to the female competitors that tournament officials decided to stop pitting him against women and instead pit the Algerian against one of Spain’s top male boxers to ensure they were “evenly matched.”

Lozano added that it was wrong to allow Kheriff and Taiwan’s Lin Yu-ting to box in the women’s division in Paris, saying: “From my point of view, I don’t think it’s fair.”

Mexican boxer Brianda Tamara Cruz, who fought Kherif two years ago, said she had never received such a powerful and damaging blow in her 13-year boxing career.

“When I fought [Khelif]I felt it was out of my reach. I was so hurt. [the] “I got punched. I don’t think I’ve ever felt like that in my 13 years as a boxer, even sparring with men,” Cruz said, adding, “I was able to walk out of the ring that day, so it’s good that they finally noticed.”
