RFK Jr. , in residency dispute, now claims to ‘own’ a home in New York

Presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. claimed in a fundraising appeal that he “owns a home” in New York, raising further doubts about his legal battle over his residency.

“Think about it: what do you call someone who owns a home in New York, is registered to vote there, and pays taxes in the state? A New York resident!” Email pitches The Kennedy Nicole Shanahan campaign said this in a letter sent to supporters.

The solicitation document slammed the Democratic National Committee for trying to remove him from the election by challenging the White House.

The newspaper reported in May that an independent candidate had claimed 84 Croton Lake Road in Katonah as a polling place, but court records show the property was in the process of being foreclosed on for non-payment of payments.

The legal owner of the land is Barbara Moss, wife of Timothy Haydock, a longtime friend of RFK and a Westchester physician.

Neighbors said they had never seen Kennedy there, but the candidate claimed it was his official residence.

He did not claim to currently own a home in New York.

Before announcing his presidential run, Kennedy spent most of his time at his Los Angeles home, where he lives with his wife, Cheryl Hines, an actress who appeared on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

RFK appeared in court in Albany last week to fight a lawsuit that allegedly falsely claimed he lived in New York.

The lawsuit was filed by Clear Choice PAC, a super PAC aligned with Democratic candidates led by Vice President Kamala Harris, after President Joe Biden announced he would not seek reelection.
