Well, this is pretty tricky.
When it comes to being in the media, almost everyone hates you, especially if they have an opinion. So if you do something wrong, you better believe that people like me are doing it right. It’s like the media people are just waiting for you to screw up. I’m used to being hated. (I don’t do a lot of mistakes, don’t get me wrong.)
But it’s common in my industry. In the world of left-wing media politics, it’s mostly blatant lies, but you get what I mean. It’s common in my world, in sports, too. Misinformation is common here. Just ask ESPN NFL insider Ryan Evans, who recently had a major blunder. (Related article: A simple fight between two girls turns into a brawl between White Sox and Cubs fans)
Newark, New Jersey, hosted UFC 302 on Saturday, but there was plenty of action outside the Octagon, including a brawl between two men that ended with one of them being knocked out by a brutal right hook.
But what made the video go viral wasn’t just the game itself, but the fact that Evans reported that the man who was knocked out was NFL legend Steve Smith Sr.
Spoiler alert: it wasn’t.

Needless to say, Mr. Smith was not at all happy with this “report.”
Hey Ryan EvansESPN…All the people, especially black people with hats, don’t look alike.

Evans tried to defuse the situation but it was extremely awkward and Smith didn’t take it seriously at all, even criticising Evans for trying to do so.
Mr. Smith, I know you have your hat on. Sorry, Mr. Smith. I’ll go get you some ice. pic.twitter.com/JPJ5pCt0AN

No, don’t try and brush this off. I’m obviously on TV so how can you blame the fight on someone you weren’t there for? 🤔 https://t.co/1KzQKwDDev

And Ryan Evans lost about 80% of his credibility in a very short space of time. That’s awful.
