Donald Trump Returns To X, Announces Interview With Elon Musk

2024 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has made his long-awaited return to Elon Musk’s social app X (formerly Twitter).

Trump’s hiatus began after his Twitter account was suspended on January 6th.Number Protests at the U.S. Capitol in 2021. Twitter’s former owner, Jack Dorsey, suspended President Trump’s account and accused the former president of inciting violence.

His previous posts included a photo of his face with the captions “Election Disruption” and “Never Give In!”
Musk reinstated Trump’s account after buying Twitter and rebranding the platform to “X.”
Meanwhile, the former president’s first post since returning to social media was a two-and-a-half-minute campaign ad highlighting the federal harassment he has faced, including the 2022 FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago and his recent indictment by the Department of Justice.
“They’re trying to take away my freedom, but I will never let them take away your freedom. They’re trying to silence me, but I will never silence you. They’re not coming after me, they’re coming after you, and I happen to be in their way,” Trump said in a video posted to X.
Trump’s first post since returning to X has now been viewed nearly 17 million times, including a series of posts promoting an interview he was doing with X owner Elon Musk on his platform.
Musk insisted the interview was “unscripted and there were no restrictions on topics.”
The event is scheduled to take place on Monday night at 8pm ET.
