‘Shark Tank’ Star Kevin O’Leary Backs Elon Musk Joining a Trump White House ‘Government Efficiency Commission’

Kevin O’Leary, Shark Tankthinks it would be a good idea for billionaire tech entrepreneur Elon Musk to join Donald Trump’s administration or even his cabinet.

O’Leary said Fox Business Network The Big Money Show On Tuesday, he said he expects Musk to fall into former President Trump’s sphere of influence if he wins the 2024 presidential election.

The idea was hatched by Musk himself during a conversation with Trump at X, where he offered to help the Republican candidate set up a “Government Efficiency Commission” if Trump won a second term in the White House.

“I’m a big fan of Elon Musk,” the investor said, “and to be honest with you, my son works for him and he loves his job at Tesla. [Elon]”A modern-day Bruce Wayne. His involvement in government would be good for all Americans.”

Musk told Trump that something needs to be done about the mountains of regulations that are stifling American innovation and ingenuity.

“I think it would be great to have a government efficiency commission that would look at these issues and make sure that taxpayer money, taxpayer hard-earned money, is being spent appropriately,” Musk told Trump in an interview on X-Space on Tuesday. “If such a commission were created, I’d be happy to work with it.”

O’Leary will likely be all-in on such an effort, especially if Musk is involved.

“He’s an authentic guy. He’s very transparent and he really knows what he’s doing. He executes. You may not like him, you may not like his communication style, but you look at what he’s accomplished,” O’Leary said of Musk.

“If we had more people like Elon Musk in our government, this country wouldn’t be in such a divided state right now,” he exclaimed.

O’Leary also had harsh words for Kamala Harris, and particularly her choice of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.

“He’s not a good administrator. If you look at his administration of his state, the state of Minnesota, it hasn’t been good,” the TV star said of Cobb Waltz.

“People say, ‘You’re partisan, you’re partisan,’ no, you’re not. What I’m looking at is the track record of someone who came into the state and wiped out job creation,” O’Leary argued. “He wiped out job creation in the professional trades, manufacturing, accounting sectors. Every single subcategory you look at, those jobs went to South Dakota and North Dakota.”

He added that the only job growth in Minnesota has been in the public sector, which has been devastating.

“Minnesota is only creating jobs in government-funded services, namely health care and human services. Everything else is declining. We also have a 9.8 percent tax on retirees, plus an additional 1 percent, 100 basis points. And of course they’re leaving the state in droves,” O’Leary pointed out.
