Top Democrat urges Secretary of Defense to reverse 9/11 plea deal withdrawal
Chairman of the Senate Judiciary CommitteeDick Durbin(Democrat, Ill.) is calling on Secretary of DefenseLloyd AustinReconsider the decision to revoke plea deals made with 9/11 conspiratorsKhalid Sheikh Mohammedand his two accomplices.

Pentagon likely undercounts sexual assaults in the military, say university researchers
A new study from Brown University’s Costs of War Project finds that the Department of Defense is likely underestimating the number of sexual assaults in the military, and the number is far higher than official estimates. The researchers looked at Department of Defense data from 2001, when the US invaded Afghanistan, through 2023, and found that the levels are two to four times higher than the Department of Defense estimates. In 2021, the Department of Defense estimates that there were 35,900 sexual assaults.
