Secret Service leaves Trump vulnerable once again after female agent abandons post to breastfeed: Report

The US Secret Service has once again put former President Donald Trump at risk of attack after a female agent reportedly left her duties to breastfeed her child during an event in Asheville, North Carolina on Wednesday.

Just before President Trump’s motorcade arrived at the scene, security guards on-site at the event checked the walking route one last time, reporter Susan Crabtree reported. Real Clear Politics Citing “three sources affiliated with the Secret Service.”

This apparent security lapse by the Secret Service is just the latest in a series of security breaches by the agency that likely led to 20-year-old Thomas Crooks firing several shots at Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.

During this last-minute security check, agents on-site discovered a female Secret Service agent breastfeeding her child in a room reserved for “essential official Secret Service business,” including possible emergencies involving the president, Crabtree said.

Crabtree added that on-duty Secret Service agents are prohibited from bringing children on guard duty.

Not only did the female agent clearly violate that restriction, but she was also accompanied by two family members who may not have been screened.

According to Crabtree’s report, the agent, two of her relatives, and possibly her baby, bypassed the Uniformed Section checkpoint and were taken to a high-security room by “unauthorized” agents, meaning the Secret Service had not given the individual permission to be there.

Crabtree did not reveal the identity of the female agent but noted she is based in the Atlanta bureau.

It’s unclear where the agent was scheduled to be located at the Asheville event or whether another agent was filling in for her.

When asked for comment on the incident, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told Crabtree, “All U.S. Secret Service employees are held to the highest standards. While the incident in North Carolina was not affected, the details of this incident remain under investigation. As this is a personnel matter, we are not in a position to comment further.”

This apparent security lapse by the Secret Service was just the latest in a series of security breaches by the agency, thoroughly documented by The Blaze News, that culminated in 20-year-old Thomas Crooks apparently firing several shots at Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.

One bullet pierced the former president’s right ear rather than his skull, coming within millimeters of hitting him, while the other killed former Fire Chief Cory Comperatore and seriously injured two others.

Outrage over the shooting led to Chief Kimberly Cheatle’s resignation, but Acting Chief Ronald Rowe acknowledged just two weeks ago that no staff involved in the July 13 rally had been fired.

Trump visited North Carolina this week and Economic Planning Trump has pledged to eliminate taxes on Social Security contributions in a potential second term.
