Perdue said the recall is voluntary and affects 22-ounce packs of its Simple Smart Organic Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets, 29-ounce packs of Chicken Breast Tenders with a best-by date of March 23, 2025, and 22-ounce vacuum-packed packs of Butcher Box Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets, also with a best-by date.
The recalled products have the business number “P-33944” on the back of the packaging.
Perdue reported the issue to the government after receiving consumer complaints about metal wires embedded in the products, according to FSIS.
“FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are strongly encouraged not to consume them,” the agency said in a statement. “These products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.”
There have been no known reports of adverse reactions from ingesting the product.
Perdue has had to recall food products before, including in 2017 and 2019.
