Neighbors say a mysterious good Samaritan rescued a man from a burning home in Seymour, Connecticut, on Thursday.
Seymour Fire Chief Chris Edwards said firefighters Notified WTNH reported that the fire broke out at a home on Lynn Terrace on Thursday evening, with the front part of the building completely engulfed in flames, noting that the Oxford Fire Department was also helping put out the blaze.
A man in his 60s sustained burns in the incident and was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.
A neighbor who spoke to the media said he was relaxing on his porch when he saw a car pull up and a man get out. The man then ran toward the burning house and pulled someone out of the building, according to the neighbor.
“I saw the paramedics treating him, rushing him out of here and getting him to the hospital as quickly as possible,” a local resident recalled. When the media outlet’s reporter said, “It looks like that guy saved a life tonight,” the local resident replied, “I hope so.”

“The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Seymour Fire Chief’s Office, the Seymour Police Department and the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigations Unit,” the WTNH article said.
Breitbart News reported in July that a 3-year-old Massachusetts girl was rescued from the top floor of a burning building by heroic firefighters.
An official later said, “He went in there and saved her. He’s a hero. Thank you to that firefighter. She’s alive because of him.”
In another rescue in April, a family discovered a fire in their home after their quick-witted dog banged on the door with its paws, according to Breitbart News.
“Yes, she’s a hero. She’s incredible,” the owner said when talking about his beloved Labrador.
