Wednesday marked the third day of the extremely dysfunctional Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, Illinois, as Democrats struggled to figure out how to properly run their convention. On the first two days, current and former presidents took to the stage after prime time. Neither Joe Biden nor Barack Obama took the stage before 11pm on the East Coast. Democrats struggled to find a coherent message.
Democrats have spent the first two days of the campaign complaining about former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee who was elected three times in a row, and hurling as many ridiculous insults as they can. They’ve barely mentioned policy in their speeches, instead spending their time onstage trying to convince themselves that working-class voters aren’t abandoning Democrats en masse and that abortion is indeed the quintessential issue of the century. Neither of those things are true, so they’ve basically resorted to running a “good vibes” campaign, getting DJs to play cool playlists, and holding fake voting rituals with surprise appearances by celebrities like rapper Lil Jon.

On Wednesday, all eyes will be on Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz, the pathological liar Democratic presidential nominee Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’ pick for running mate. Waltz has patently lied about his service record in the Minnesota National Guard, falsely claiming to have served in multiple “wars,” and exaggerating his rank when he retired. Even the establishment media, desperate to protect the Democrats, has acknowledged that Waltz is a liar. The New York Times Now, Axios has recently weighed in on the controversy. Not only has Waltz lied about his military record and stole his reputation, but he also lied about his 1995 DUI arrest, according to CNN, and lied about how his children were conceived (Waltz has publicly claimed multiple times that they were conceived through IVF, but in fact they were not). He even lied about what seasonings he likes on his tacos in a fake interview with a running mate. Someone who lies not only about so many big things but also so many small things raises serious questions about whether he can be trusted about anything at all.
Waltz’s compulsive dishonesty will be evident in front of the tiny fraction of the public actually paying attention to this disastrous convention. Nielsen TV ratings for the past two nights have plummeted from 2016, eight years ago, when the Democrats last held their convention. And despite the undeniable enthusiasm among party members that they have a candidate who can walk and talk the talk, rather than the corpse-like Biden (who was summarily written off in the worst coup in political history), there is also a clear message coming from party elders to their base: This election is up in the air, and they’re worried that Trump will win. Both Michelle Obama and Barack Obama (who, as Tuesday night’s speech made clear, are oddly obsessed with Trump) made it clear near the end of their convention speeches that they don’t think Harris will win this election, and that she may well lose.

Speaking of the coup against Biden, its mastermind, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is also scheduled to address the convention on Wednesday night. It will be interesting to say the least to see what Pelosi, who left Biden’s rotting political carcass by the wayside when she pushed him aside for Harris, has to say about Biden (if she has anything to say at all). It will also be interesting to see whether she, like the other candidates, tries to distinguish between Harris and Biden and distance Harris from all the policy mess she and Biden caused together.
When it comes to appealing to suburban women, no Democratic speaker is better suited than former President Bill Clinton, another of Wednesday night’s attractions. The habitual cheater himself will take to the stage two days after his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, speaks at the convention. It’s unclear at this point whether Clinton will mention his friends Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, or Bill Cosby on stage, but it’s pretty amazing that this man has avoided the reputational damage that others who have engaged in similar acts have suffered. Let’s never forget that Bill Clinton was credibly accused of rape and sexual assault by multiple women. Trump could bring them to one of the upcoming debates (like he did against Hillary in 2016) and ask “Prosecutor Kamala Harris” if she can do something about their case against the former president.
It all happens again in Chicago on the third and nearly final night (thank goodness it’s almost over). Follow Breitbart News here for live coverage and analysis of what’s happening.
Update: 8pm ET:
Notably, the first lyric of the song when Morris took to the stage was, “If you don’t like it, get out.”
That’s not a very comprehensive message.
Update 7:58 PM ET:
Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) will introduce country music star Maren Morris, who will also be hosting the third night of the Democratic National Convention alongside actress Mindy Kaling, who is scheduled to take the stage shortly to perform.
Update 7:52 PM ET:
The crowd applauded when John Pollin, the father of an Israeli-American hostage in Gaza, said this isn’t about politics. He said Biden and Harris are working toward a ceasefire to bring the hostages home and “end the despair in Gaza.” The crowd gave a muted applause for the Pollins, who have endured hell at the hands of radical Islamic terrorists.
Update 7:49 PM ET:
Families of Israeli-American hostages currently being held by Hamas in Gaza are speaking at the Democratic National Convention, and while it will be moving to hear them speak, it will be interesting to see how the radical left protest wing of the Democratic coalition responds.
Update 7:39 PM ET:
Asa Hutchinson, the former Arkansas governor who “ran” against Trump in this year’s Republican primary but lost miserably and wasn’t even registered, is apparently currently in the audience at the Democratic National Convention meeting with the Arkansas delegation.

Update 7:36 PM ET:
Minnesota’s radical Attorney General Keith Ellison went hard on George Floyd from the stage, saying he had received calls from both Walz and Harris urging him to pursue “the legacy of George Floyd.”
It is truly astonishing to see Democrats celebrating the riots, burning cities and lawlessness of 2020 from the convention stage.
Update 7:21 PM ET:
Brant Rochester ended his speech with a strange shout into the microphone, then hoarsely said something about “let’s go” before running off the stage.
Update 7:18 PM ET:
The parade of mediocre Democrats has begun again. Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE), who is running for Senate in Delaware, is now speaking on stage. It’s shaping up to be another long, boring night, as Blunt Rochester is once again yelling maniacally into the microphone, “Donald Trump!”
Update 7:17 PM ET:
The CNN panel is currently debating whether Waltz can connect with ordinary Americans, unlike the elites that Harris represents, with former Trump staffer David Urban pointing out that the only way Waltz can prove that is by actually campaigning, which he has not done yet.
