Although he couldn’t sit through the entire third night of the Democratic National Convention, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) is co-founder of Blaze Media and a national radio host. Glenn Beck He was informed enough to draw conclusions about the Democratic Party’s “collective amnesia” and its revisionist campaign to disassociate Kamala Harris from the current administration’s various failings.
In addition to discussing this revisionism on “The Glenn Beck Program” on Thursday, Vance also highlighted the possible role of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in a future Trump administration, as well as his hopes for Harris in the wake of the July 13 assassination attempt.

Glenn Beck pressed Vance on whether there had been any serious discussions between Elon Musk and RFK Jr. about working in a future Trump administration.
While speaking with President Donald Trump at X-Space last week, Musk suggested he might run a new commission tasked with eliminating inefficiencies and waste in government. The two billionaires commiserated about the extent of government waste, but the conversation ended without making any concrete commitments.
“I think RFK really does a lot for us.”
But when asked by Reuters whether he would consider appointing Musk to an advisory or cabinet-level role, Trump said
Reply“He’s a very smart guy. If he’s going to do it, of course I’ll do it. He’s a great guy.”
Vance told Beck it would be wise to “not get too upset with Elon.”
“I think he’s a genius and I think he’s going to do us a lot. But of course, before we give Elon any role or title, he has to win the election.”
The Ohio senator suggested Trump could play a role for Kennedy.
Previously appointed In 2017, he was appointed to run the Vaccine Safety and Integrity Committee.
“I think RFK has a lot to offer us on this issue of 8,000 veterans, maybe more, who have been kicked out of the military for refusing to get vaccinated,” Vance said.

About 17,000 U.S. military members have refused to get vaccinated. According to At least 8,339 military personnel have been unceremoniously expelled, according to Military Times, with around 70% of those expelled being for refusing to get the new mRNA vaccine. Reportedly He was given a general discharge.
“I’d love for RFK to see it, but I’ve never spoken to him,” Vance continued. “I don’t know what he’s interested in.”
Trump allies like Stephen Bannon have long been talking up some sort of collaboration between Trump and Kennedy, and The Blaze News previously reported that the possibility finally started to solidify last week when RFK Jr.’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, suggested the Kennedy campaign was considering a “Trump-Kennedy collaboration.”[ing] Becoming an “ally” of Trump.
Shanahan explained that “Big Pharma” was Trump’s “Achilles heel” during his first term as president. After all, it was the Trump administration that
kick off Operation Warp Speed was launched in May 2020 to allow for the fast approval and production of a vaccine during the pandemic, but the vaccines ultimately proved to be neither as safe nor as effective as initially promised.
“I don’t think he realized how damaging it would be to his reputation and his whole legacy,” Shanahan added.
Following the podcast, Kennedy released a statement.
Emphasize“I am open to engaging with leaders of any political party to further the goals I have pursued over the last 40 years of my career and in this campaign.”
While campaigning in Michigan on Tuesday, Trump told CNN’s Kristen Holmes that he would “probably” consider Kennedy for a position in his administration.
Other members of the Trump campaign seem keen to bring Kennedy on board in some capacity.
Donald Trump Jr. told Beck earlier this week that he liked the idea of giving RFK Jr. “some kind of role in some three-letter organization or something and letting him blow it up.”
Investigation into the shooting of Harris’ opponent
Beck on Thursday also addressed the investigation into the July 13 assassination attempt that left Trump covered in blood and former fire chief Corey Comperatore dead.
“Maybe the mistake was unintentional. Of course, we won’t know until we investigate it.”
Vance said he wasn’t satisfied with the information investigators have produced so far.
“It’s clear that we need to better understand what happened to leadership in the wake of the assassination attempt on President Trump,” Vance said. “Frankly, that’s a responsibility on Congress, that’s a responsibility on Senator Chuck Schumer, that’s a responsibility on the Biden administration to get to the bottom of what went wrong.”
“Maybe the mistake was unintentional. Of course, we won’t know until we investigate it, but we need a real investigation,” the senator continued. “I look at this from the perspective of the American people, and I call on the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, to get to the bottom of this and give the government the authority to do a real investigation. That hasn’t happened yet.”
Vance suggested it remains unclear whether the security failures on July 13 were the result of the incompetence of a few individuals, the breakdown of certain processes or procurements, or “something more systemic.”
“We’ve always believed that sunlight is the best disinfectant in a democratic government, but I think these events call for a more honest explanation of what happened,” Vance added.
Trump’s running mate emphasized this point, telling Beck that while he and other minority senators could only do so much, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and the vice president could quickly get to the facts about the shooting and security breakdown “if they make this a priority.”
Meanwhile, there are signs that key facts about the shooting are being hidden from the public.
For example, The Blaze News recently reported that Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the Biden-Harris FBI seeking records related to the FBI and Secret Service coordination in preparation for Trump’s July 13 rally in Pennsylvania.
The FBI reportedly denied the request, citing exception 7A of the Freedom of Information Act, which prohibits the disclosure of information that would “preclude anyone from receiving a fair trial or impartial adjudication.”
Judicial Watch called the rejection a “massive cover-up of the near-assassination of former President Trump.”
Democracy’s “Amnesia”
Vance wants Harris to help uncover details about the recent past, but suggested earlier in the interview that historical accuracy might not be Harris’s forte.
The senator told Beck that Harris’ campaign “is in a kind of collective amnesia and is saying Kamala Harris is going to do this from day one, or Kamala Harris has the vision to get that done, and then we realize that Kamala Harris was vice president for three and a half years.”
“She has made these problems worse, not better, during her time in office,” Vance continued. “So just because Kamala Harris opens the border doesn’t mean she’s going to make the border secure. Just because she casts deciding votes on policies that increase inflation doesn’t mean she’s going to stop inflation.”
Beck said he was struck by how quickly the narrative was changed to suit Democrats’ interests, noting that just a month ago the same political activists who were slamming critics of the economy were now claiming that Harris would fix it.
“Glenn, you make a really important point here, which is that if you’re an American citizen and you’ve been paying attention to this election, you’d be forgiven for being troubled by the Democratic Party’s resonant messaging,” Vance said.
“A month ago it was, ‘The economy is great under Biden. Don’t believe the lies. Just vote for Joe Biden.’ And now it’s, ‘Yes, the economy is terrible, but Kamala Harris is coming in after three and a half years as vice president and she’s going to solve all these problems.'”
