Throughout the third day of their convention, Democrats glamorized their unpopular support for increased immigration with euphemisms, star power and praise for hard-working individuals.
The Democratic presidential candidate is the daughter of immigrants, TV host Oprah declared.
Soon we will be teaching our daughters and sons how an idealistic, energetic immigrant child of an Indian mother and a Jamaican father grew up to become the 47th president of the United States.
“This is the high point of America!” Oprah said as the crowd chanted “USA, USA.”
Several Democrats have blurred the fundamental civil rights and constitutional distinction between American citizens and foreign immigrants by portraying typically striving immigrant individuals in a sympathetic light.
Gov. Wes Moore (D-Md.) described the six immigrants killed in a boat crash into a Baltimore bridge in March as Americans.
Six Marylanders lost their lives while repairing a pothole on a bridge in the middle of the night… Making America great doesn’t mean telling people, “You’re not welcome”… [It] It’s like saying that without your help, our nation’s ambitions would not be fulfilled. This is the legacy of six men who repaired the hole in the bridge while we slept, who were born in another country, but who knew that America was big enough for them.
This PR is necessary because the public opposes the government’s plans to bring cheap labor, apartment renters, and taxpayer-funded consumers into the economy.
Immigration is an inevitable American “heritage,” not just a controversial economic policy, according to Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.). He misinterpreted a pro-immigration poem added to the base of New York’s Statue of Liberty 17 years after the pro-democracy statue was dedicated.
[Harris] Kamala Harris knows this. There is a poem inscribed on the Statue of Liberty. Its last line is, “At the golden door I hold up my lamp.” For generations, that lamp has called people to begin brave new lives in America — my ancestors, your ancestors, and the parents of the next president of the United States. Kamala Harris knows we can be a nation of proud immigrants and a nation of strong immigration laws.
Murphy’s argument echoes former President Barack Obama’s call on his second day in office to remake the US into a more diverse nation. “No country or society has ever sought to build a democracy as large and diverse as ours, one that includes people from all parts of the world for decades,” he said.
The word “American” was used several times throughout speeches on the third day of the convention, but only three times in the speech of vice presidential candidate Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN).
Democrats’ eagerness to support even more unpopular immigration policies is being covered up by the mainstream media, which claims the party is taking a hard-line stance on immigration.
“Democratic National Convention delegates speak out on immigration, party supports tougher border measures” said CBS.
“Speakers on Wednesday night supported tougher policies against asylum seekers, praised President Joe Biden’s attempts to negotiate a bipartisan border security bill and acknowledged real changes in immigration policy.” Claimed From Vox.com.
In reality, the enormous economic and social damage caused to ordinary Americans by illegal immigration was acknowledged by the Democratic Party only to stimulate sympathy for illegal immigrants among the randomly sympathetic attendees of their party convention.
“We are not going to let anyone in this country have any right to arrest anyone,” declared Sheriff Javier Salazar of Bexar County, Texas, which includes San Antonio.
Traffickers pack migrants like cattle, 50 to 100 at a time, into 18-wheeler trucks. Then they close the doors. That’s when the 911 call comes in. We hear them screaming, desperate, terrified, out of breath. Now, sometimes we get there in time, but sometimes we can’t, despite our best efforts.
But the Democrats’ fervent sympathy does not reach Americans who have lost wages, jobs, and homes to immigrants imported by the government and employed by their employers.
Democrats used euphemisms to disguise their support for increased immigration.
Speakers also used the word “immigrant” as a euphemism for illegal immigrants. “Pro-immigrant is pro-America,” declared social media heavyweight Carlos Eduardo Espina. “Welcoming immigrants is not Democratic or Republican values, it’s American values,” said Espina, the son of illegal immigrants from Mexico.
Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.) coined the phrase “family” and jobs as a cover for illegal immigration: “We believe our nation is stronger when families stay together. We believe our union is more perfect…” [when migrants] Become a teacher, a construction worker, a soldier.”
“Pathway” became a catchy term to encourage economic migration. [Harris] “We will fight for a path to citizenship,” Aguilar said.
“We can strengthen our legal resources,” said Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-Texas).
Chicago residents are outraged that the Democratic Party and the DNC are prioritizing illegal immigrants over American citizens.

And then you have all these resources that the average American doesn’t have. What about the homeless kids? What about the veterans?” pic.twitter.com/kjs1xbBrwI— NumbersUSA (@NumbersUSA) August 21, 2024
The concept of liberty was used to justify restrictions that shifted real benefits from individual Americans to those Democrats preferred, such as the freedom of immigrants to move into American communities and workplaces.
Democrats have been presented as heroes in the immigration debate, even as President Joe Biden’s elite-backed mass immigration policies have caused enormous economic harm to millions of Americans.
“We believe in the future of this country,” Aguilar said.
“I met her when the vice president visited El Paso and met with immigrants and human rights defenders,” Escobar declared.
The border situation is complex and full of opportunities as well as challenges. All Republicans can offer is demonization…A Kamala Harris presidency can deliver on America’s promise; strengthen legal pathways for immigration; secure our borders; [with] Dignity… those [migrants] People seeking a better future.
The Democratic Party platform portrays America as a nation of immigrants, not a nation of Americans: “America is a nation of immigrants… [and] Japan must continue to be a “beacon of hope and opportunity” for foreigners.
Like many 🇺🇸 US political party conventions I’ve attended, a highly skilled team of immigrant workers (mostly from 🇲🇽 Mexico) were sweeping the floor at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
